Paradigms in HCC and chronic liver disease multimodal radiological assessment

Biography: President of Latvian Radiology Association and Chief of RSU Radiology Research laboratory. She is well known as a passionate educator in clinical radiology, diligent researcher, and opinion leader in the Baltic countries and Europe. Her research has been devoted to innovative methods in vascular, endocrine, hepatobiliary and oncology imaging: CT perfusion, contrast-enhanced ultrasound, US elastography, PET/CT, and furthermore computer science developments in Artificial Intelligence.

Synopsis: HCC incidence and related mortality are high due to long-term virus hepatitis burden, therefore early diagnostics and precise differential diagnosis among various neoangiogenesis within regenerative, dysplastic nodules and different grade HCC is a prerequisite for a patient-centered approach. This lecture will give an overview of various imaging modalities such as US, CEUS, CT, and MRI and will show their advantages and disadvantages in chronic liver disease.
