Title of abstract: O-T7-02 The impact of acquisition parameters on patient dose in digital radiography using an anthropomorphic phantom

Synopsis: Medical imaging represent the largest part of radiation exposure from artificial sources. Evidence suggest that pelvis diagnostic examinations may lead to increased risk of cancer, especially to the gonads. Therefore, reduction in patient doses in clinical practice is required to ensure a dose exposure as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) while maintaining diagnostic quality of the acquired images. This presentation will discuss patient dose optimization for different conventional X-Ray units at Vilnius University hospital Santaros Klinikos using a male pelvis anthropomorphic phantom (CIRS, USA).

This agenda item is presented in the following session: S4-4 Radiation Protection
