Synopsis: In the lecture the main challenges of performing and reporting a good quality PET/CT will be covered. The main focus will be on patient preparation, which contributes a lot to the physiological distribution of FDG and, therefore, to the quality of PET/CT scan, this is especially important in case of suspected cardiac sarcoidosis. In the workup of sarcoidosis the key point is to evaluate the distribution of disease and determine its’ activity to be able to select a proper patient management. Thus, the staging and disease activity criteria will be covered in the lecture along with clinical examples. Several cases will be demonstrated focusing on treatment response evaluation.
