Welcome to Baltic Atherosclerosis Society Conference - Tallinn 2021

Dear Colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate at the hybrid Baltic Atherosclerosis Conference 2021, which will take place in Creative Hub, Tallinn, Estonia on 03.-04.12.2021.
Despite the recent advances in the cardiovascular prevention and atherosclerosis research, the burden of the cardiovascular morbidity and mortality remains very high in all the three Baltic countries.
The conference is significant in the region because it allows to introduce the latest scientific achievements, share knowledge learned through practice, and establish contacts with colleagues from different countries. The official Congress language is English. The programme of the conference should help practitioners to find answers to the questions they are facing in their daily work. Our activities are focused on clinically oriented primary and secondary prevention.
The main topics of the conference are:

Personal prevention of atherosclerosis

Hypertension and atherosclerosis

Diagnosis and treatment of familial hypercholesterolemia

Biological treatment of dyslipidemia - PCSK9 inhibitors and inclisiran

Prevention of atherosclerosis and heart failure in patients with type 2 diabetes

Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) registries in Baltic countries

All delegates are entitled to receive certificate for 11 hours of External CME credits
We welcome you on the spot in Tallinn, if you have been vaccinated or have recovered from the disease.
Virtual (on-line) participation at BAS 2021 is free for pre-registered delegates (medical specialists, doctors, nurses and residents). A small fee is charged from on-site participants to cover some of the costs of our event. We look forward to great interest in the atherosclerosis prevention in general and the work of Baltic Atherosclerosis Society in particular.

This time we gather in Tallinn - one of the best preserved medieval old towns in Europe (UNESCO World Heritage Site), as well as exemplary architecture from different periods. Often named as the Silicon Valley of Europe, Tallinn is a unique combination of a smart city, with its hundreds of start-ups and technological centres and Estonian culture, which can be seen everywhere in the form of cuisine, handicraft and music. The city is engulfed nature in all directions – the sea to the North, and numerous national parks, forests and other sites to explore in the East, South and West. I can promise you that you will be surrounded by Tallinn’s unique flair everywhere you go.
